What is RPM

Rapid Prompting Method (RPM) is a communication and academic method that empowers neurodivergent individuals to express learning, understanding, reasoning, and independent thought through spelling.

RPM is built around a predictable teacher–student response loop that supports focus, engagement, and meaningful participation.

Objectives

Cognitive

The teacher selects an age-appropriate topic tailored to the student’s background and interests to build reasoning and comprehension skills.

Tolerance

The teacher initially adjusts to each student’s sensory and performance tolerances, then gradually supports the student in building greater tolerance across these areas over time.

Skill

The teacher tailors response methods to the student’s motor, sensory, and emotional readiness, using options like choice selection, spelling tools, typing, handwriting, or speech to build different RPM skills.

Communication

Communication is a result of learning in RPM and develops from single words to more complex forms like sentences, essays, and creative writing.

How We Help

VIA provides financial assistance for spelling-based communication and academic instruction delivered through VIBE Learning Center.

Individual Sessions

One-on-one academic sessions (approximately 50 minutes) designed around age-appropriate lessons and RPM instruction.

Paired Sessions

Paired sessions allow experienced spellers to learn alongside peers, build friendships, and strengthen social skills. Each family pays 50% of the session cost.

Micro Spelling Program (MSP)

A six-hour academic program for ages 12+, integrating ELA, Math, Science, and History with RPM and presuming competence principles in a small-group setting.
